Why you need to check out the world-famous Gonpachi

Looking for a new date night spot? Planning a meal out with your fellow foodie friends? Celebrating something special? Whatever the occasion may be, Gonpachi Dubai has you covered.

The trendy restaurant from Tokyo is famed for being in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 hit film Kill Bill and Hollywood stardom aside, the famed restaurant has also made a name for itself thanks to its authentic Japanese dishes.

Gonpachi has seven restaurants in Japan and its Dubai branch – the first of its kind in the Middle East – serves up the same dishes that’s made it a massive hit in Japan. We’re talking fresh soba noodles, grilled skewers, sushi, tempura, and more.

Decked out in warming woods and bamboo beams, the cool spot in Al Habtoor City is spread out over two floors with a bird’s-eye view of the entire restaurant from a mezzanine floor which is also available for group bookings and parties.

The Matsuri Friday lunch is a top way to sample some of Gonpachi’s authentic and exciting dishes. The lunch happens every Friday between 12.30pm and 4pm and prices start from Dhs325 with soft drinks, Dhs495 with house beverages and grape, and Dhs575 including premium drinks and special Japanese beverages. The speciality dishes are whipped up by the Japanese chefs and the Friday lunch menu includes a range of starters, a selection of sushi, a choice of main, and desserts.

Another cracking way to try out some of Gonpachi Dubai’s superb dishes is with the business lunch deal. The lunch deal runs from Sunday to Thursday between noon and 4pm and foodies will have the choice between either a three-course or four-menu tasting menu with prices starting from Dhs125 per person.

You’ll be treated to a selection of starters, tempura, maki rolls, and mains and dishes include salmon tartare, prawn tempura, karaage, premium wagyu striploin, plus the chef’s dessert of the day.

And don’t miss brand-new menu items including sashimi salad with spicy ponzu dressing, lobster with miso butter, wagyu rib-eye, corn pachi roll and seared scallops with foie gras. Indulgent? You’re worth it.

So, what are you waiting for? A true taste of Japan awaits.
